we welcome this fantastic producer on trapez with this piece of music which is quite different from most of what we get today. the title track >ghosts< feels like as if klaus nomi and kraftwerk were performing together... something we would have loved to have seen but which never happened. this track is not for the people who love it safe but for the adventurous and the wicked. voices like sirens striking with high pitched tongues being counteracted by basslines with a surface that can only be described as rough as chunks of splintered steel. a brilliant stop and go feeling shows that christian martin is the master on the steering wheel when it comes to controlling the movement.

classic re-press of unbeliveable, killer 4-tracker from the legendary jersey champion. holds something 4 everyone: from summery house with live-strings and steeldrums (!), to an unearthly, melancholic vocal piece, plus one deep instrumental with shifting organ chords and pumpin drums. >reprise tha dread< is probably the hit here: rolling, dub reggae inflected jersey house with a sweet roots vocal (horace andy?) on top. house cant get much better than this!!!

>can ting< is west indian slang for a steel pan, a much loved instrument in the caribbean world. here the duo takes on this magnificant sound maker that brings people together in massive street battles containing thousands of practising steel pan musicans playing all thru the night. due to its complicated note structure and technical limitations in tuning single areas in the steel pan, this instrument requires many years of practising. the sound of a one hundred man strong steel pan orchestra is something everyone should see and experience once in their lifetime.

second in the series of limited disco re edits from a certain mellow house producer you cant go wrong with the originals of either of these tracks especially with the cowbell prodded synth riff of the classic dyson track originally from 1982 on the flip the rare disco congo from a 1977 westbound lp with a memorable bassline reminiscent of the o jays for the love of money before the track heads off to trinidad for a steel band breakdown

nice funky house track with a jazzy touched piano in the funky club and dub mix and a nice steel drum in the club mix includes a dj tool (sb)

south terminus gets you warmed up with a shuffle rhythm but a mean frizzling acidic synth line like a steel whip and a nervously knocking percussive sounds punch the rhythm more and more into a straighter pattern - when the tune finally falls into a 4/4 beat after the break and the acid line completely bubbles over its pure mayhem. 'clubbanger' on the b-side gets underneath your skin more subtely: headbangin tech-boogie with suspensefull, slightly claustrophobic string backings and robotic voice snippets. label head clement opts in his remix for a punk-funk slant with cool dangling bassline and snotty rhyhtm guitar wrapped up in foggy synth sounds
